November has come and gone, while I pre wrote a few posts I got all wrapped up in Nanowrimo fever, a state which if you take part you will understand. If you do not the blinkers go up and you can’t see anything other than your November novel. As such I would like to apologise for not posting for a month, I know it can be frustrating when you are expecting updates and they don’t come.
My reading in november was practically non-existent (see comment about ignoring everything above) but I did manage to read 228 pages and as of writing I am less than 100 pages from the end of Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather.
Since I took part in Nanowrimo I thought I would let you know that I am officially a winner with 100,006 words. I was a NanoRebel though, writing more than one story which I find helps me to stay productive as I don’t get bored knowing where each of the stories are going.
Since there isn’t much to Wrap up this month and it is the last month of the year I thought I would give you an update on what I need to do to hit my aims this month. I need to finish 8 books this month. I have 29 left days to do this!! So all the books that I started and didn’t finish will most likely be picked up again this month. the TBR for the month is:
Terry Pratchett’s – Hogfather
As I have shared above I have less than 100 pages of this left at time of writing so hopefully I will manage this by the time I go to sleep tonight.
Patrick Rothfuss – The Name of the Wind
I really enjoyed reading the first three quarters of this book. It is sitting on my Desk right now just waiting for me to pick it up and finish it off. I am hoping I will be able to pick up where I left off. It demotivated me realizing that the final book isn’t out and doesn’t have a date yet.
Charles Dickens – A Christmas Carol
I have read this before and I really enjoyed it. I may do a film versus book of this if I have time this month. The Muppets Christmas Carol is something we watch with my future parents in law every year and it may be a little difficult to do so this year I am really looking forward to it. One additional plus of this book is that is it really short so I am hoping to get through this is one sitting.
Robin Stevens – Murder most unladylike
THis is a book that my future mother – in – law gave me. She read it and mentioned that it was written during Nanowrimo, as such she thought it may be good motivation for me to read one of the books that had been produced in this way. I am about 50 pages through it, but that is 50 pages closer to the end than any of the remaining books on this list.
Rick Riordan’s – The Mark of Athena & The House of Hades & Blood of Olympus
Since with the last four books I can finish of the Series of Olumpus and have one book left over this makes sense to complete the series this year. Two of the books have 500+ pages but I think it will be possible to get through them.
Derek Landy’s – Skulduggery Pleasant Death Bringer
I am hoping I will have the time to get to this book. It is the sixth book in the Skulduggery Pleasant Series which I have been making my way through.
While the first three weeks of the month is rather busy at work I am hoping that I will be able to make good use of the time between Christmas and New Year, After all this year we aren’t allowed to see many people for these events and them being on a smaller scale should allow me a bit of extra time reading.
How much do you have to read to get to your magic figure for the year? Let me know in the comments below.
